The Delaware Association of Athletic Directors along with its official scholarship sponsors Varsity Athletic and State Champs are pleased to announce that Kyle Satterfield of Caesar Rodney High School and Sarah Gotthold of Dickinson High School are the winners of the 5th Annual DAAD Scholarship Program.   

Caesar Rodney High School’s Kyle Satterfield is a two sport athlete (Football and Golf) who earned six varsity letters and is currently ranked in the top 15% his class.  Kyle plans to attend the University of Delaware.

Dickinson’s Sarah Gotthold is also a two sport athlete (Volleyball and Softball) earned eight varsity letters and is currently ranked 1st in her class.  Sarah will be attending James Madison University.

Each student will receive a $500.00 award.  Their scholarship applications have now been submitted to the Section 2 Level of the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).   Each student will now compete against seven other regional state winners from Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.  The winners from Section 2 will be awarded a $1,500.00 scholarship and their applications will move on to the National Level for a chance to win a $2,500.00 scholarship. 

Four years ago Eryn Quillen from Seaford High School was the Section 2 winner of $1,500.  In 2012 Molly Cain from Seaford High School was the National Scholarship winner of $2,500.
